The Shubert Organization

The Shubert Organization is America’s oldest professional theatre company and the largest theatre owner on Broadway. Since its founding at the dawn of the 20th century by brothers Lee, Sam, and J. J., Shubert has operated hundreds of theatres and produced hundreds of plays and musicals, including Cats, Sunday in the Park with George, Dreamgirls, The Heidi Chronicles, Jerome Robbins’ Broadway, Amadeus, Ain’t Misbehavin’, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Once, The Band’s Visit, Come From Away, and Dear Evan Hansen.

Shubert currently owns and operates seventeen Broadway theatres, six off-Broadway venues, and the Forrest Theatre in Philadelphia. Through Telecharge and Broadway Inbound, Shubert’s technology sells millions of Broadway tickets each year. Shubert’s sole shareholder, The Shubert Foundation, provides over $35 million annually to sustain and advance live performing arts. Through all of these activities and philanthropy, The Shubert Organization continues to be a leading force in the American theatre.
